How Long Does Video Production Take? (And What's the Process?)
Here's the good news: creating a professional video for your business doesn't have to disrupt your daily operations or consume weeks of your time. When you work with Scene2, you get a turnkey video solution that allows you to stay focused on running your business while I handle every detail of the production process. From our initial conversation to final delivery, I manage the creative development, logistics, filming, and editing—requiring minimal time and effort from you. You'll be involved at key decision points to ensure the video aligns perfectly with your vision, but you won't be bogged down in the technical details or endless back-and-forth. My goal is to make this process smooth, efficient, and even ENJOYABLE (yes, I love what I do!), so you can continue to do what you do best: managing your business.
The Video Production Process: What to Expect
Creating a professional video involves several key phases. Here's exactly what happens from start to finish:
Phase 1: Discovery & Strategy (Week 1)
What happens:
We start with a conversation about your goals, target audience, and the message you want to communicate. If we’ve never worked together before, this is where I learn about your business, what makes you unique, and what success looks like for this project.
What I need from you:
About 30–60 minutes for an initial consultation (in-person or virtual). After our conversation, I’ll need you to email any brand guidelines, previous marketing materials, or examples of videos you like.
What I deliver:
A clear understanding of your objectives and a preliminary plan for how we'll bring your vision to life.
Phase 2: Pre-Production Planning (Week 2-3)
What happens:
I develop the creative concept, write the script (if needed), plan the shoot logistics, scout locations (where possible), arrange talent or interview subjects, and coordinate all crew and equipment needs.
What I need from you:
Concept approval, confirmation of shoot dates/times, and access to your location(s). If we're filming interviews or testimonials, I'll need help coordinating your team or customers.
What I deliver:
A detailed production plan including shot list, script, schedule, and everything needed for a smooth shoot day.
Phase 3: Production (Shoot Day)
What happens:
My crew and I arrive on location with all necessary equipment and load everything into your facility.
We set up camera, lighting, and sound where appropriate.
I direct the shoot, work with on-camera talent, and ensure we get compelling visuals and authentic interviews.
What I need from you:
Access to your location and availability of any on-camera participants. Depending on the project, shoot days typically range from 8–10 hours. You're welcome to be on set to observe or provide input, but it's not required — I've got this handled.
What I deliver:
All the raw footage needed to create your final video, captured with professional-grade equipment and expert cinematography.
Phase 4: Post-Production (Week 3-4)
What happens:
I edit the footage, add graphics and motion design (if applicable), mix the audio, color-correct the video, and integrate music or voiceover. This is where all the pieces come together to create a polished, compelling story.
What I need from you:
Feedback on the initial preview cut. I'll share a preview video for your review, and you can request changes or refinements.
What I deliver:
A professional preview cut for your review, followed by revisions based on your feedback.
Phase 5: Revisions & Final Delivery (Week 4-5)
What happens:
Based on your feedback, I make final adjustments to ensure the video is exactly what you envisioned. Once you approve the final cut, I deliver the completed video in the formats you need—optimized for your website, social media platforms, presentations, or broadcast.
What I need from you:
Final approval and confirmation of delivery formats (e.g., Instagram square, YouTube landscape, vertical for TikTok/Reels).
What I deliver:
A ready-to-use, professionally finished video delivered in all requested formats.
Timeline: From Kickoff to Completion
Here's what really matters to you: Your video project can be completed and delivered within 4–5 weeks from our initial consultation to final delivery—not months.
Of course, timelines can vary based on project complexity, the number of shoot days, or scheduling considerations, but my process is designed for efficiency without sacrificing quality. If you need something faster, let's talk—I've turned around rush projects in as little as one week when the situation calls for it.
The bottom line? You'll have a professional, powerful video in your hands in a matter of weeks, ready to attract customers, build credibility, and generate momentum for your business.

What You’ll Feel Like When Your Video Comes to Life
There's a moment that happens with every client—a moment I live for as a videographer. It's when I send over the final video and immediately receive a message back saying, “Wow, unbelievable!”
When you watch your team on screen, or your customers sharing their stories… You see your business portrayed in a way you've never seen it before—not through your own eyes, clouded by the daily grind and operational challenges, but through the lens of possibility and professional storytelling.
And then it hits you.
This is better than I imagined.
The message is clearer. The visuals are more compelling. The emotion is palpable. That thing you've been trying to explain to customers for years—the thing that makes your business different, the reason they should choose you—is now crystal clear in under three minutes.
